Mehmed Uruc

17-year-old Mehmet Uruch took photographs with his personal camera, Shift 8, between January and March 1973a. The photos were taken either from his home or from a high point opposite the square in Kornica where women were protesting. Uruch was aware of the huge risk he was taking and did not even tell his father. He hid the films for over 17 years and only published the photographs in the 1990s, first on the Kornica website.
